Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway. John Wayne

Developing Our Plan of Action

Financial coaching is highly effective at helping people move towards their goals. The trick is identifying your financial goals in the context of the rest of your life. CLDI has extensive experience in clearing the clutter away and determining whether what you think you want is where you can go.

First meeting

In our first meeting we will review where you are now; where you want to go; and what it will take to get there.

We will also
find out what is important to you about money? It may be a strange question, but the answer is not the same for everyone.

We want this to be VERY clear. So clear you can taste it.
When you have a clear purpose, this creates the strong motivation needed to achieve goals.

Step two

Once we are clear about your long-term goals - your purpose for making and managing money, we can move onto where you are now in relation to that long-term goal.

We need to get a real assessment of
your current financial situation.

This will inform our discussion of what your needs are and where we want to go.

Session Meetings

The most efficient way to work together is through telephone, Skype or other internet streaming services. This gives us more flexibility in scheduling and location - no need to meet in person! And we can deal with issues "in the moment" if necessary.

Financial Coaching, Planning, Mentoring & More

Financial Coaching

CLDI’s coaching services are highly effective at helping small business owners and others gain ground on their financial goals. Coaching is a series of (mostly) telephone sessions to identify or clarify a client’s goals and then determines how to proceed given their current financial and life situation.  CLDI develops a unique curriculum for each client depending on their specific needs. CLDI will create a coaching contract to guide sessions.

Coaching helps clients develop a psychology around money that is positive and productive. Coaching clients become more confident in financial decisions and develop self-supporting behaviours. CLDI coaching clients learn:

  1. What they really want to achieve with their life
  2. What they need to do to make it happen and
  3. How the marketplace can support their actions.

CLDI provides support to coaching clients so they stay on track or adjust behaviors as necessary. Peggy does this by ensuring that you have the positive beliefs and attitudes to get where you want to go

Income Tax Services

No one should pay more taxes than necessary. CLDI has in-depth knowledge and experience with the Canadian tax regime that applies to individuals and the self-employed (not-incorporated). CLDI prepares Canadian tax returns for the current tax year as well as past years.

Comprehensive Financial Planning

CLDI’s comprehensive financial planning services result in a document that prescribes the financial path towards a client’s established goals. A financial plan is a living document that is meant to be revisited updated from time to time.

Financial Mentoring

CLDI’s mentoring services are intended to provide occasional expert advice to clients, who otherwise prefer to manage their own finances, when they really need it. Mentoring can deliver guidance with budgeting, targeted savings or even developing scenarios for retirement projections.

Through mentoring, clients can learn answers to questions like:
  • Whether they can retire now;
  • What to do with a windfall, such as an inheritance,
    a settlement from a lawsuit or divorce,
    or lottery winning or;
  • Whether they need a new money manager.
